What this site is

HalfDollars.com publishes United States half dollar specifications and calculates the value of the silver they contain at a live market price. It is a reference, provided as is.

Not advice, and not an offer

Melt values are not offers to buy or sell anything. They are the market price of the metal in a coin. What any particular coin will sell for depends on its grade, its date, its eye appeal and who wants it that week, and can be far above or, for damaged coins, somewhat below the metal figure.

Nothing on this site is investment advice, financial advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell precious metals. Precious metal prices move and can fall.

Accuracy

Specifications are taken from the public record and silver weights are calculated from them. We believe them to be correct and we will fix anything shown to be wrong, but the site is provided without warranty and you should not rely on it as the sole basis for a transaction of consequence. How the figures are derived.

The live silver price comes from third-party market feeds. It may be delayed, and it may be unavailable, in which case the site says so rather than showing an old number.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links may be affiliate links and are labelled where they appear. We are not responsible for the content, pricing, conduct or fulfilment of any third-party retailer, dealer, auction house or grading service mentioned or linked to on this site. Any transaction you enter into with them is between you and them.

Acceptable use

Read it, use it, quote it with a link. Do not scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other people, and do not republish it wholesale as though it were yours.
